"…Neat People…" Written November 21 & 25 Hey Mom & Dad! I have no idea what number this is because I don't have my book with
me. This can be a freebie I'm in Bondoukou. We're at the end of our Thanksgiving weekend. We had
so much fun, too. Tons of people came up and we ate & drank more than
I thought humanly possible. It's so nice to be able to all be together.
I never thought I'd feel like that but it is family. I can't believe more
people don't join the PC. These are some of the neatest people I've ever
met. And what's even cooler is they are so excited that you guys are coming
& get to meet you. You're flying in with a bunch of them. Sky's on
there now too. I think Rachel & her family are going to meet all you
guys in Paris to say hi & just to meet you guys. Here are 2 rolls
of film & I've got another one about half way through. Everyday I
wake up & get excited all over again that Jan is almost here. I miss
you & can't wait to see you. |

It's not real long anyway. I'm here in Grand Bassam at our AIDS conference.
It is really good so far. It has given me the confidence to approach this
subject in the village. AIDS in the village is something that isn't talked
about. It is a very shameful thing to have so nobody will admit it exists.
Nobody knows for sure if they have AIDS because they don't get tested.
But you can look at their symptoms and be pretty sure. It is hard because
if you think someone may have AIDS, they won't go get tested. Then they
probably will go have unprotected sex and make it even worse. I did a
little presentation on AIDS & nutrition which went really well. The
BHF (Bondoukou Holy Family) was talking about doing a group project….come
up with a huge AIDS presentation with prizes & other things to pique
their interest. Then go around to everyone's villages & do it together.
I'm so pumped right now. There are so many things I want to do now. I
love AIDS education. I think I found my "calling" - for a couple
years anyway, then I'll change my mind again. We're going to Abidjan tonight
for a party then Bondoukou tomorrow. We're doing Thanksgiving on Friday
with everyone who wants to come. It should be a lot of fun. OK. Session
is starting…be back.
